When the folks at Sony called for reinforcements on the Helldivers 2 Launch Trailer, we dropped in with 25" of CG in just 3 weeks to create this sublimely satirical opening sequence. Through a series of patriotic vignettes, Super Earth's most elite fighting force are displayed heroically over a softly waving flag. These scenes were brought to life using the game assets, with minor modification to the character and monster rigs, adaptation of game materials for offline rendering, and a compositing pipeline which was executed alongside the renders in the render farm.
